You should expect your child to be completing homework every night . A weekly homework checklist is given every Monday (unless Monday is a holiday) which will list homework for that week. Some subject areas such as math and spelling are consistent throughout the year, while others like science and social studies will vary depending on what was covered that day.
On this page you can view information about long term assignments/projects and an explanation of homework for each subject.
Math homework is given in the form of a worksheet. Side A is completed and corrected in class and side B is assigned for homework. Math homework is always due the following day and is worth 10 points.
Please see a full explanation on the Spelling Page
Fourth grade reading homework requires a minimum of 80 minutes read per week. Your child will have a reading log where they will write 3 sentences about what they read each night. The reading log is due Friday mornings. I suggest your child read 20 minutes a day starting Monday and finishing Thursday, however they may read any days (inlcuding the weekends) as long as they have 80 minutes read by Friday. Reading logs are always available in class and the students are responsible for getting one if they need it.
Social studies and science homework will be given alternately depending on what is covered that day.
The only Bible homework is studying the memory verse and Bible Review for that week. The verse is given on Monday and can be found on the Newsletter and your child's homework checklist. The review sheet consists of 10 questions that will be on Friday's Bible quiz. It is given on Thursdays, after we finish the week's lesson.
